Joe Slockbower
Joe Slockbower has emerged from Southern California to become one of America's premier wildlife artists. After studying art in Europe, Slockbower mastered the complicated "Lost Wax Process," a 6,000-year-old process in which molten bronze is transformed into a lasting work of art. Mill Creek Sculptures by Joe Slockbower often present the detailed bust of a single endangered animal such as an eagle or a panda bear, while others present group dynamics of animals: a family of wolves or the relationship of a mother bear to her cub. Slockbower has won numerous awards and received recognition throughout his career for his ability to powerfully portray endangered species that evoke a strong desire to preserve the natural beauty of the world.
